Barclay's Radbroke Hall

On 28th April, Year 6 were invited to Barclays Technology Centre at Radbroke Hall to take part in a Tech Awareness workshop. The children worked in pairs to control small Mars rover/Wall-E type robots which they programmed using a simple programming environment called Arduino.

The children were required to program the robots to perform different functions. They created and debugged the code as they went along, adapting and improving the performance of their robots.

They were challenged with creating codes which would send the robots around a track in the fastest time, they used sensors to navigate an obstacle course and even managed to program a robot to score a goal!

We had a fantastic morning, and it was lovely to see the children’s enthusiasm in this area of computing.

We are very grateful to Barclays for inviting us and for the help and encouragement of all the staff involved
