Day 2 Year 6 Menai

7th July 2016
After a deep nights sleep we awoke to rain. The weather however didn't dampen our spirits. After a hearty breakfast we made our way to the woods to start the days adventures which included; taking part in the zip wire; and low ropes challenges. All the children participated and worked well as a team. For lunch we made our way back to our social room very wet and extremely muddy - good job we all had waterproofs.
"The zip wire was great fun, especially going backwards." Izzy
"I enjoyed low ropes as they were a challenge and we worked well as a team to complete the tasks." Ellie-Rose
After the lunch the weather cleared slightly, for a civilised afternoon of sailing. Once again the children had to work together to operate the sails and steer the boats. They soon became experts in nautical terminology.
" I learnt that the tiller steers the boat." Sam H
"It was great when the boat tipped." Cameron.
At night the weather turned wet but we were lucky enough to be able to use the brand new yurt for another campfire. We were the first ever school to use it. Again the children settled quickly and slept well.
