Year 6 Menai Residential Day 2

30th November -0001
Following a deep nights sleep, we awoke to a grey, rainy day. The weather however, didn't dampen our spirits. After a hearty breakfast we made our way to begin our mornings adventures based in the woods. Here we took on the challenges of zip wire and low ropes. The children had to work together as a team to complete the challenges set to them. We returned to our accommodation drenched and extremely muddy - good job we were wearing waterproofs.
"The zip wire was fun especially going backwards." Izzy
"I enjoyed the challenge of low ropes and how we worked together as a team." Ellie-Rose.
After lunch, we headed to the docks for a civilised afternoon of sailing. The children quickly became experts at sailing the boats and the terminology that goes with it. The weather brightened slightly but, the conditions were perfect for sailing.
"I learnt the names for different parts of the boat, the tiller steers the boat." Sam H
"It was great when the boat went fast and tipped." Cameron
We were lucky enough to finish our evening with a second camp fire in the brand new yurt, as the weather was drizzly. We were the first school to have use of the building.
