Adrian Derbyshire

28th November 2014
Paralympic Gold Medalist, Adrian Derbyshire, led our whole school Worship on Monday 24th November. The children all enjoyed seeing his Team GB memorabillia including; a gold medal, the olympic torch and more.
He brough with him, a very expensive, hand bike and had one of the pupils demonstrate how to use it. Adrian told us, his new challenge is to hand cycle the distance of a marathon every day.
Adrian explained that he only became disabled later on in life and told us about events that led to his disability.
Adrian is an ambassador for hate crime, his job is to visit schools and colleges across the country, encouraging children to be the best they can be and to never give up.
Adrian gave a very inspiring talk and the children were kept captivated throughout the whole of his presentation.
"It was great seeing his medals, he was a really interesting guy" Jack C (Year 6)
