St Helen's CE Primary School Remote Learning

The provision of high quality teaching and learning is at the core of everything we do at St Helen’s CE Primary School. Our remote learning policy seeks to ensure that this remains to be the case in the event of (i) single pupil self-isolation (ii) classes, year groups or ‘PODs being required to work at home, or (iii) whole school closure due to Covid-19.

Acceptable Use Policy

The provision of high-quality teaching and learning is at the core of everything we do at St Helen’s CE Primary School. In order to support pupils in the event of whole class ‘PODS’ required to isolate or whole school closure due to COVID 19, St Helen’s CE Primary is implementing a new programme of live or pre-recorded collective worships, video conferencing or lessons.

The document below sets out the procedures that must be adopted by parents/carers of St Helen’s CE Primary and pupils aged 11 and under, when participating in live or pre-recorded collective worships, video conferencing lessons with St Helen’s CE Primary School staff.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is digital platform that lets teachers keep in touch with children remotely. They can access support from their class teacher and use apps such as Word and PowerPoint from home in the event of an individual or a whole class having to isolate due to COVID-19. All of this can be accessed by your child by simply logging in to Microsoft Teams using the email and password that has been sent home.

Microsoft Teams is a safe and secure environment that lets teachers from St Helen’s CE Primary School communicate with pupils, share files, videos and useful websites and give feedback directly to the students. There is also a function to schedule safe, secure video meetings/conferences for children in the class, or with groups smaller groups of children.
